    Spirituality and Native American imagery are the cornerstones of Ben Wright’s large body of work.
    A graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara, with post graduate studies at S.F. Academy of Art, Ben has seen his work exhibited extensively throughout the west, from Hollywood to Santa Fe.
    Ben was also invited to be the first artist in residence at the Frederick Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg New York.
    The two- month stay, in addition, include exhibition of twenty works adjacent to the museum permanent collection of Remington bronzes and paintings.
    As a person with native heritage (Cherokee),Ben feels that Native American people provide healing pathways for everyone. The traditions of the People are inclusive, all colors, all nations, all welcome, all related and connected by through the wisdom of the Great Spirit that is part of living things.
    “I believe that in the new age of self-awareness and self-realization, the empowerment and guidance of the “Old Indian Way” still apply .All things related, all things connected.”
    Ben currently lives with his family in Sedona.
    Pony Story: Drawing on his Cherokee heritage, this Arizona artist, whose large, spiritually powerful portraits of Native American warriors are coveted by museums, has created a visual interpretation of the traditional tale of the Dreamwalker. It is a story about a medicine man who is told in a vision that "the discovery of power will come through the ways of animals.  "Shortly thereafter, he sets out on a trek across the Great Plains to the East, where Illumination lives. He carries a pipe with him, has many encounters and draws on the powers of a medicine wheel. Near the end of his journey he is greeted by a White Stallion, who tells him the secret of "true power" is compassion, caring and sharing one's gift with others. Ben lives in Sedona, Arizona. The original Masterwork of Dreamwalker was selected as a finalist in the Native Art of Horse Painting national competition.
    The Trail of Painted Ponies celebrates the magic of the horse as an artistic canvas, the rich culture of America, and the unique talents of independent artists. The artists behind this exquisite collection come from all different backgrounds, and the inspirational stories behind each design are as heartfelt as they are beautiful.
    The Trail of Painted Ponies announced that Westland Giftware would no longer be reproducing Painted Ponies. Beginning in January 2010,Enesco became the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of The Trail of Painted Ponies figurines and other merchandise. The Westland molds were broken and all of these original Westland Ponies should become even more highly sought after, rare, and valuable.
    My photos are of the actual pony in this listing! Please consider these images as part of the description.
    I have looked this pony over carefully and can detect no obvious cracks or chips in it prior to shipping.  Please note that some ponies (particularly older ones)may have minor imperfections or show signs of touch-up, such as under-paints or over-paints (as most ceramic and some resin pieces do) that occurred during manufacturing, as each one is hand painted. Most painted pony boxes have shelf wear or the tag may be creased or slightly bent; this does not affect the pony in any way. The pony was displayed in a glass cabinet for my personal enjoyment;
