This auction is for an original 30"x40" British quad movie poster for The Sound of Music s
tarring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, Angela Cartwright, Daniel Truhitte, Eleanor Parker, Nicholas Hammond, and Maria von Trapp. Directed by Robert Wise.
This film won multiple awards including the Academy Award for Best Picture of the Year, Academy Award for Best Original Music Score and the Academy Award Best Director for Robert Wise.  The poster is in very good condtion having been archivally linenbacked and was rolled, not folded as issued,  before linenbacking.  This rare poster includes the Todd - AO logo that was later removed due to a legal dispute.  The replacement was the more common Cinemascope logo.  The colors are vibrant and the Howard Terpning artwork is gorgeous.
The poster is shipped well packaged, includes insurance and signature request for delivery due to it's value.
