    Description

Offered is the original oil painting
    Six Axles on the Desert
by American Artist Chris Jenkins.  Big six axle Southern Pacific SD units lead their freight across an expansive desert landscape.   A blue mirage has formed in the distance at the base of the mountains.
The painting is  on stretched canvas 16 inches high by 22 inches wide.   The painting is protected with a finish coat of archival semi-gloss varnish. The painting is sold unframed. The 3/4 inch staple-free deep sides are also painted, so the painting can be hung unframed if you wish.
I am the original artist, and the painting is signed by me in the lower left corner and on the back.   Your painting will be accompanied with an attractive certificate of authenticity.
PLEASE NOTE: This original painting is copyrighted.   The artist, Christopher P. Jenkins, retains all commercial reproduction rights. The artist retains a digital file of the painting and may from time to time sell prints and license the image for other uses.
Shipping is free, and you may return the painting for a full refund within 30 days if you are not completely satisfied.
    About the artist:
I am an American artist who specializes in painting airplanes, railroads, and ships.  My work has been selected for several juried national and international shows, and my paintings have been displayed in museums, galleries, and other public venues. My paintings have been published in magazines and on magazine covers, and they have appeared in publications in the US and Overseas.  In addition, some of my paintings have been licensed and published as the background for checks, as a Christmas card,  and one has been published as a picture puzzle  I am a founding member of the American Society of Railway artists, and an associate member of several other art organizations.   My objective is to capture the essence of a scene or a machine, but without distracting detail. I am retired from a 34 year career in the freight railroad industry, so trains are my favorite subject matter.  You can see my advertisements in  the current issues of Classic Trains Magazine.
I am  listed in Ask Art.com's Blue Book of American Artists, and other places.  Please note that I have over 1100 ebay feedbacks, 100% positive.
